What do we sing?

The choir has evolved to cover a wide spectrum of songs ranging from Howard Goodall's the Vicar of Dibley and Mr Bean themes, O Fortuna from Carmina Burana, which is more popularly recognised as the theme tune for the X Factor and Verdi’s Requiem to Les Miserables, Rodgers and Hammerstein Medleys, the Armed Man, Sprig of Thyme folk songs and seasonal Christmas favourites.

The choir has engaged hundreds of soloists, of local, national and international renown. The Society is a charity and we have always encouraged the musical development of students and young singers.

We sing in 4 part harmony - soprano, alto, tenor and bass. You don't have to be able to read music but you do need to practise in your own time.

We usually perform 3 times a year - concerts  could be in the autumn spring or summer, but we almost always have one at Christmas.

We are not a religious choir, but we enjoy singing both religious and secular music.
